Arganese Maduro Presidente Robusto

It's a rainy day here in the south. So I'm settled in, here on the porch, with the last of the Tex Cigar Cigars. This one is the Arganese Maduro Presidente Robusto. It has a Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper with a Dominican Sumatra binder and Dominican filler. It's kinda of soft to the touch, with a couple of large veins running along the wrapper. It has a great pre-light smell...earthy. From the first draw you knew this was going to have a base flavor of expresso. It also has an underlying spiciness that is very subtle. The draw is nice and easy. The ash, however, is very flaky and weak. The burn was even and consistant through out. It's a well balanced cigar, melding the coffee flavors with the spiciness very well. Not very complex but that's not always a bad thing. This would be a great cigar if you just want to relax and let all your troubles melt away. I thoroughly enjoyed this cigar but would not place it on my most wanted list. Total smoke time was one hour.

Nice review! My experience was similar. I liked the flavor: deep, rich, spicy dark flavors that shift and build over the course of the smoke. Full flavor and strength, but smooth, without any overpowering pepper.

The ones I've smoked have had some construction issues. A few have been downright ugly, with sloppy wrapping and what looked like patches. It was more than an aesthetic problem, as the burn was quite uneven, with a couple of runs.

But the flavor was definitely good.

I was tempted to latch onto a deal recently (by CigarMonster I think) but you describe my experience exactly. Poor construction, lumpy, bad burns. It's really too bad as it can easily be an everyday smoke 'cause they aren't too expensive and they taste pretty good. I've had the other Arganeese and have had better luck with the construction and those taste good too IMO.

I heard a lot of good things about these Arganese maduros.
I sparked one of yesterday, got it burning good, put it down in the ashtray and went and got a JJ maduro.
It had zero body, kinda like soup with no spices. It was so nice out and I wanted to smoke a good cigar, or I may have given it time to get decent.
