I have not been around much lately but it is because life has gotten BUSY!! After this month I am hoping that it will all calm down... I hope!!

Anyway I am in the need for some help. My school needed a new logo which I made, and now they want to have it printed BUT I don't feel that it is finished yet. It does not "feel" right if you know what I mean? Here is a jpg version... I am almost embarrassed to post it but what the hell, we're all friends right??

Anyway I have a small budget to get this reworked and I found a few places online BUT before I had over funds to strangers I wanted to come here first. If you are good with Illustrator and have some free time PM me or reply here whatever just let me know. Did I mention that this has a short time line, but it does pay (either PP or I will pay you in sticks if you want :) )

Anyway I just wanted to put it out there to you all.

What are you looking to have done to it? Does it just need vectorized or you looking at a redesign? And how short is a short time line? :)

I think it looks good the way it is personally. I often find that work i do in photoshop feels "unfinished" to myself too, because i'm too self critical, but other's say it's great. In the case of your logo, I think it looks good to go. My 2 cents

This may be true you know, the principal liked it, the school board liked it... everyone but me!!

Maybe all I need is to have it vectorized.

Any other thoughts?

The only thing that looks a little off to me is red thing in the corner. Is it supposed to be a sword hilt that is there to make the blue circle look like a Q? Just kind of looks like it's layered odd. Other than that think it looks good.

I see what you mean. It is an inukshuk and it was supposed to make the circle look like a drum.

Never thought about making the whole think look like a Q... cool

Sorry here is the type of drum I am talking about, just so you all can see.

Q works with the name though. Think it looks sharp.

I like the idea of it being a Q, I just wasn't sure what the object was supposed to be. And to me, the area where the circle and object meet just looks a little off. Like it was just plopped on top of it rather than it's supposed to be there.

I think it looks totally awesome, Craig.
I do a lot of that stuff and I'm as critical of myself as you are of yourself.
Is the yellow thing in the center a frame made of bones? Like for a eskimo hut?
If so, maybe it could turn like this?

Having a straight Qarmark (Thule house) it makes the drum stand out more to me.

Good eye brother

LOL - I first thought it was a stylized "Q" that stood for the name! I never ever thought it might be a drum. ;)

I like the whole design as it stands; you possibly could clean-up the edge between the drum and the handle, just a tad... :tu

Gets my vote. It looks better with the "house" straight.

I am in the middle of a move but if you have no takers I can turn it into an AI file for you in a week or so. I can appreciate the intricacies of the symbolism, from the drum to the inukshuk. :)

I have AI, but the resolution is so low I didn't know if I could make it bigger and have it look like anything.
Got any tips?

The inukshuk and the whalebone domicile structure in the middle of the design are the only elements that would require a higher resolution to make the vector in my estimation.

Here is a reference file for the inukshuk

Here is another link to a Inuit whalebone house as referenced in the middle of the emblem.

Hope that helps.

I would "flavorize" those fonts as well. :)

Hey guys thank you for helping me out with this. The idea of having the Qarmark straight was well worth the post!!

But all is well, the printer that we are going with is going to work the file for us.

Thanks again guys. I will be back when I have to do my own logo thats for sure!!
