I'm currently smoking a gifted CAO CX2 and it's the first ever cigar that I've picked up the flavor of pancakes. Am I totally going bonkers or has anyone ever had that type of flavor crop up in a cigar before?

Hmm...maybe this was the inspiration for the "smoke and a pancake" segment in one of the Austin Powers movies! :r

And preparing breakfast of pancakes over an open fire.

I've picked up bready flavors before, namely shortbread and gingerbread, but never pancakes. Before the smoke I'd only had some tequila and cauliflower (don't ask) and had my actual dinner a few minutes ago.

I've tasted flavor that was sweet and doughy that I could not put finger on, maybe it was pancakes :hm

Never in a cigar, but I smoked some aged Momoyaya pipe tobacco that tasted like pancakes with maple syrup at MMHI.

Now then we can only hope for a cigar with a hint of sausage and I can have my cake and eat it too,,,lol

Girls with big boobs work at hooters, girls with one leg work at IHOP. Maybe they would know.

Short bread, ginger bread, doughy....yes, but never pancakes. Did it taste like a plain pancake, or did it have butter and syrup on it? :r

Never picked up the actual flavor of pancakes before! I have tasted something very close to maple syrup, which my brain associated with pancakes though!

Mmmm... now I want pancakes or see if I can find that cigar again! :D

That is an interesting taste. I will have to keep my buds open the next time I smoke.

I've tasted maple syrup in a cigar before, but not the pancake flavor itself.

Drew Estate is proud to present, The Cigar Aficionado Cigar of the Year:

Moons Over My Hammy Robusto.

Now if we can get Jelly Belly involved, I think we may be onto something.

The CX2 is one of my favorites, and I have noticed some other odd flavors come out of them.

Just keep the Log Cabin bottle off the table next time you fire-up a CX2 Mikey;)
