Discuss.

I am pissed at NASCAR for starting the race so late. Of course it is raining now. I wish they would have stayed at Rockingham instead of giving California 2 races.

AMEN.

I live 20min. from Rockingham and I'll never forgive NASCAR for what they did, even if they had good reason.
I'm glad to see Rockingham get some races back again. ARCA and USAR raced there last year. Joey Logano dominated the ARCA race there last year.

I also think they should take a race away from Pocono and give that race to Kentucky. Pocono is the most boring track in NASCAR. They have to throw their "debris" cautions to get it interesting for a few laps there. :c

It's all about the $$$ and the TV contracts now, boys. As are most sports today.

Corporate this and corporate that. The tracks are mostly cookie cutter types and owned by just a few "companies". Gone are the days of those smaller, more exciting tracks. They didn't bring in enough cash for the suits, fans be damned.

This race has been pretty boring also so far.

I'd like jr or Waltrip up front, but for the fantasy contest I'm pulling for Jimmy J today.

Logono's not one of my picks today, but after watching him win at the Rock last year, I'm pulling for him to do some good things this year.

Hopefully it will be a short caution.

The funny thing is if you go to Nascar's home page and click on forecast, it says that is it mostly cloudy. They don't mention anything about rain :hm

ROFL! It rained this morning, but clear as a bell since 10:00 a.m. Race would have started at 1:00 here.

There is some good racing action tonight. The high line is the only thing that's making this race worth watching.

It would be better if they didn't stop covering the race every five minutes to cut to Hammonds and his cutaway engine. I like some of the things they cover, but a little goes a long way.

It was definitely biffle's fault, not the tire changer. DW was smoking crack on that one

Sucks for the drivers and teams. Especially for the haulers. They have to drive back to NC, then back out west in a matter of days. Two cross country trips round trip in two weeks.

Yeah, it is hard though for NASCAR to schedule b/c they only have so many tracks to schedule at this early in the year where it will be warm enough.

I find it hard to feel toooo sorry for them.

Not for the big teams, but for those who are struggling to survive week to week, like Jeremy Mayfield's team, I feel sorry for them. For the drivers I don't feel sorry at all. But for the haulers, that's a rough two weeks.

Whee
02-22-2009, 08:27 PM
True, the little guys do have it rough. for the brickyard, I'll shell out nearly $300 for tix to the truck, nationwide and Cup races plus all the other goodies. Still hard to get too teary eyed for them. Multiple cars for different tracks, carrying complete garages in the haulers...didn;t have those problems 20 years ago.

I have been to the Brickyard a couple times back in the late 90's/early 2000's. I really don't care for the track b/c you can only see in front of you. Kentucky is much better b/c you can see all the way around the track.

I went to many of the southern tracks when I was stationed in South Carolina. Best track was Bristol, most boring race was generally Daytona. Since then I have been to Poconos and New Hampshire. I do like the New Hampshire track since they fixed the pavement and made safety improvements.

Never been there, but I do like the New Hampshire races. It's not a cookie-cutter race track.
