I was in the market for a cheap computer for work. Mostly I surf the web and stream music, so I didn't need something real good. Maddman, who has built computers for me in the past, sent me to Overstock.com. They have an auction side now and Best Buy has a clearance section. I got this, out the door and delivered for about $180.00.

I'm not really a fan of Acer equipment, but that should be plenty of machine for what you want to do with it.

Be careful on the RAM costs, my x64 AMD laptop costs $600 for 8GB RAM :-(

Cost more than I paid for the laptop with 4 GB RAM!

Looks like this Acer uses a standard DDR2, so there wont be a problem with costly upgrade if you wanted too. Nice buy!

A 20-30$ card is easy enough to find nowadays.

Not to mention built in antennas on cheaper hardware usually suck anyway, so having something external could actually be better off.

I just wanted to know how that PC worked out for you? Did you get it, and is it running fine? :fu
