I really hope not! But it could happen!

Isn't it interesting that a T.V. show from the 60s would launch so many movies???

Has any other title produced more movies???

Other than Friday the 13th or James Bond!!!:hm

I would probably say no... There are more Star trek movies and James bond movies than most other series. In fact the James Bond series is one of the most profitable in history coming in second to only the harry potter movies in worldwide gross (adjusted for inflation).

The orginal Star Trek has to have more television spinoffs than any other t.v. show!

The only ones I can think of that may have a few are Archie Bunker and Happy Days!

Any thoughts?

It's funny because my dad hates Star Trek and when Enterprise was still in production he would call and ask what I was watching and I would say Star Trek. He always would say, "Is that show still on?"

That show will always be on... somewhere!:D

Narrator: "All his life he has stuggled to fit in... to belong!!!"

Robotic Motorcycle Cop: "What is your name?"

Young S. Kirk: "James Siberius Kirk!"

I first heard about the movie quite a while ago. at the time, my thoughts while lookings at the cast list was "you got to be kiding me.... his thing is going to be a joke!"

a few months ago, some famous director or something (cant remember who) got to see a very draft of the newly filmed movie. his unofficial word about it (he wouldn't even admit it was star trek that he saw) was that "a lot of people, includiing himself, were very worried about it.... and that fear for him has been put to rest - he was truly impressed."

so my oppinion of the movie shifted back to a neutral wait and see....

and now I've seen the trailer. my oppinion? HOLY ****! I think the curse of the odd numbers will be broken, I really think this one is going to literally "revive" what has been in the last few years, a dying franchise. I can't wait for may!

This has something for everyone! If you are a big fan you'll love it especially references from past TV shows and movies. If you are not that into Star Trek you'll enjoy the action and story-line!

likewise, just got back from seeing it. This movie just saved the franchise. Superbly well done movie, and most importantly, NOT like any star trek you've ever seen before. It's a breath of new life for a series that was beginning to look a little stale. Solid writing, the audience was emotionally "hooked" into the movie from literally the first scene. Well done... very very well done. If you were on the fence, I highly recommend it. A word to the wise however, the camera is shaky in the battles, so sitting in the back would be advisable if you are the type of person that needs to.
