Still can't figure out how they figure what teams plays in what time slot for the playoffs. I would think as the number one seed the Colts would have the Sunday night game, but they have the Saturday night game:confused:
Is this to ensure the number one seed doesn't get a short week if they advance?
The TV networks decide when they will play. They do it based on what ratings they think they will get. Saturdays are usually not good for them so they tend to pick the game they think will get good ratings.

Give us this Saturday, our weekly win, And give us many touchdowns, but don't let the evil Ravens score against us. Archie Manning is going to have a tough two weeks. Archie is an icon down here dating back to his days as the Saints QB and for everything he as done for New Orleans. He has now been moved a half-step behind Drew Brees because of the win last night.
Now Archie has to face the countless number of times he will be asked, "Hey, Archie! Who you gonna root for? Your Saints or Peyton's Colts?"
Oh! The only thing that could have made Peyton better in the eyes of everyone down here would of been for him to play for LSU instead of Tennessee.
All of the Mannings are loved down here and the only time we root against them is when they are playing the Saints.

Hey! We thought New Orleans had the lamest, dumbest Mayor in the United States. It looks like Indianapolis can claim that "honor" also. So the two idiot mayors make a bet on the Super Bowl.
If the Colts win, our soon to be out Mayor is sending CDs of New Orleans style music, King Cake, Beignets and a Café au Lait - all things New Orleans is famous for.
What does the Indianapolis Mayor plan on sending if they lose?
Shrimp Cocktail.
Yes! He's going to send shrimp to Louisiana! WOW! I didn't even know that they had shrimpers in Indiana! OH! WAIT! The probably BUY their shrimp from Louisiana. So he's going to send shrimp back to a region famous for it shrimp. How lame is that?

Having watch Manning play since he was in high school down here, there is no doubt that he is a great quarterback and he an win games for his team. On the other hand, I have seen him lose games too. What it is going to come down to is which team can execute their offensive and defensive game plans the best. Both teams have their good things and their bad.
I am just getting tired of the media - 99 percent of who were on the Saints bandwagon before the Dallas game - now basically saying the Saints shouldn't bother showing up because the Colts have won a Super Bowl in Miami before. AS IF that determines who is going to win.
I actually expect it to be a good game.

I am equally tired of the Colts have been here and won in Miami as I am tired of this would be great for the city of New Orleans, it is a football game, a little perspective is in order I think.
It WILL be a good game and if there is no Freeney it will be that much closer. Both teams had great years and are "deserving" of winning it all.
Gotta give the media a little wiggle room for nonsense though, two weeks is a long time to lead up to a game.

Four things.
1. Getting conservative at the end of the 2nd quarter.
2. The onsides kick
3. Missing the field goal.
4. Porter Interception.
Bonus: Clark not catching the ball in the endzone at the end of the game didn't help either.

The devil assigned him the usual punishment... put him in the mass pit where the heat was melting others.
The devil came back sometime later surprised to find the Cajun just sitting around, not even misting, much less sweating. "How come you're not so much as sweating here where everyone else is screaming for relief from the heat?"
The Cajun laughed and said, "Man, I was raised in the bayous of Sout Looziana. Dis ain't nothin' but May in Lafayette to me!"
The devil decided to really put the Cajun through it. He put him in a sealed off cave in the pit with open blazes and four extra furnaces blasting. When he came back, days later, the Cajun was sitting pretty, had barely begun to bead up with sweat. The devil was outraged. "How is this possible!? You should be melted to a shrieking puddle in these conditions!."
The Cajun laughed even harder than before. "Hey, man! I done tole you. I was raised in Sout Looziana. You tink dis is heat?! Dis ain't nothin' but August in Jennings!"
So the devil thought, 'Alright, a little reverse ought to do the trick.' He put the Cajun into a corner of hell where no heat ever reached. It was freezing and to add to the Cajun's misery, he added massive icebergs and blasting frozen air. When he returned, the Cajun was shivering, ice hung from every part of him but he was grinning like it was Christmas.
Exasperated, the devil asked "HOW!? How is it possible?! You're impervious to heat and here you sit in conditions you can't be used to... freezing cold and yet
you're happier than if you were in heaven. WHY?!"
The Cajun kept grinning and said, "Dis mean de Saints done won da Super Bowl!!!"

With every bit of truth that follows I die a little more inside. I just love #21 so much. Living in Seattle and having seen Kenny Easley play I was locked in to the safety position. I saw in Sanders as the man that could be #45. It is not over, but it isn't looking good.

I see an opportunity here. I just watched C Painter go 9 for 20, ugh. Leinart already has stolen a good amount of dough from Arizona. Add to what he made at USC and financially he has to be doing pretty good. Nobody is going to trade for him and the ridiculous amount of dough he is due. Come Saturday he will be released by the Cards and free to negotiate with any team.
Enter Bill Polian and the Colts. Cut Painter, pay Leinart close to the minimum, let him watch how a real NFL Qb conducts himself for a couple years and he may be ready to play somewhere in a couple years. The Colts will have a serviceable backup instead of the cast of retards that have been behind 18 for years.

why are you throwing the ball? why aren't you burning up the clock?
There isn't enough time for the Jags to get the ball, run three plays, punt the ball, you get it back, and you drive for a score.
So all you're doing is giving them time to score in regulation.

You know, I am so goddamn pissed off.
Rarely will I blame a loss on coaching. But lets see what we did here:
You have an opponent qb who blows, who can't throw the ball down the field to save his life. An opponent who has one playmaker, a rb. So What do you do?
Do you stack the box and take away the run? Move your DB's up and compress the secondary to take away the short pass?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO.......
You play your vanilla, soft two cover zone, playing right INTO the strengths of your opppnent. BRILLIANT!
On offense, you're facing an oppenent who has made no secret of the fact that their game play is to limit you're opporutnities with the football, on offense they're just going to run, run run the ball, throw short passes to eat up the clock.
So what do you do? Do you run a quick, up tempo offense to counter that, maximize the number of times you have the ball? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...........your very first drive takes nearly 9 minutes off the clock in the first quaarter, essentially playing right into their hands, again. BRILLIANT!
At the end of the game, do you use up all of the time on the clock, forcing the game to OT????
NOOOOOOOOO......you leave plenty of time on the clock for them to drive downfield and kick the game winning field goal. BRILLIANT!!!!
Won't even get into the drop passes, turnovers in the red zone. Hey Hayden, nice catch!!!

Not even going to address the 22 yd completion to what would be a second string QB on almost every other team. I am more troubled with the crap ass clock management.
I am no NFL head coach, I do know that for fact, the throw on 1st and goal was a hideous call. Maybe Peyton saw something, maybe it was the call, I don't know, but a run there would either run 40 extra seconds off the clock or force a timeout. You are one foot away.
Maybe the Jags win the toss and it is irrelevant, but that was just bad.
Penalties and turnovers, got to get that chit in line. I could write a scroll here, but I will just end it now, frustrating.
Turning ugly at home.
http://www.indystar.com/article/20101004/SPORTS15/10040320/Kravtiz-Even-with-Colts-pedigree-serious-flaws-hard-to-overcome
Of course Kravitz would throw his own mother under the bus if it meant it got him national play.
This comment from Sessions I find troubling...
"It's still early, still early, still early,'' Session said. "We'll pick it up. We'll get it together. It's still early. We'll get it together.''
Sounds like instead of working to fix how bad they are, they think some magical fairy dust will land on their heads and make them good. Hard to believe this is the same 11 as last year.

I am going to a game next year and that is all there is to it. Will aim for a Sunday Night game or MNF. Will get in on Friday and leave on day after game.
Hoping to stay in the Hilton Suites downtown or the Hampton a couple blocks away. Free flight, free hotel, just need to score tickets. I smell herf potential here. Will revisit when the schedule is released, but I like to give fair warning before I crash a city.

Wish I could've taken you both to the game. Crowd came unglued on that facemask call. Ref's were shaky all night. When my phone recharges will post up a pic or two.
I had a solo Jihad at that call and then I lost it on the call where Manning slid. They did correct that one though.

Yeah "The Slide" caused most of the crowd to go nuts. I think the SJ was just surprised Peyton was running.:D

Sifted through a few boards this afternoon and nothing beyond an MRI was scheduled for today.
On a side note, there are some real dandies in some of the Colts boards. No different than any team I suppose, but wow. Hart has one decent half and now I guess he is better than Addai and Brown and should be the starter.
Present company excluded of coarse, but the typical message board crowd scares me.

I agree with your assessment.:r
People don't appreciate Addai enough, I think a lot of them don't realize all he's asked to do. He does a tremendous job at blitz pick ups which people tend to undervalue.
As to Hart, he did look very good. I'm a little down on Brown, I mean come on Dude try to stay on the field:tu

Don't worry folks, it will either get better or worse and the Colts will either win or lose. By the way, according to Peyton, "The sun will come out tomorrow.":D

A reminder to all here to please close the door behind you, otherwise people tend to just wander in.
I think Paul copied the key...:r

I am going to turn into a raging alcoholic at this rate. I knew he got dinged, didn't know he was out there with a dislocated elbow and broken arm.

This article makes it sound like he could actually play and is just missing some practice, I find that hard to believe.

if he played with it his broken arm must be like Favre's broken ankle.
Forearm's not that bad. Soft cast it and send him out there:banger
Just noticed I earlier referred to Mike Hart as MIke Bell.;s

That was your one mulligan of the year. You made it to November without using it though, so that is a bonus.
I wonder what the Titans will look if Johnson is right? CJ and a Moss that wants to play could be ugly. I am as tired of Moss as most people, but I also know that if he wants to play he has got 2-3 years in him still.

He has not endeared himself to the fans of Indy for sure. I would be surprised if he ever puts on the Colts uni again.

wow, not bad enough you're down to 3rd and fourth string players at key positions, you have to jinx yourself by coming out in college uniforms, LOL

Wow, vicious hit on Collie.
Hate to see plays end like that. Hard to pull up on a play like that. Almost looks like the second hit moved him into the helmet to helmet hit from the third player. Certainly didn't appear to be intentional.
